Abstract:
Objective Driven by global energy structure transformation and China's "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" goals, addressing the problems of high pollution and low energy efficiency of traditional fossil-fuel-based heating and steam supply has become a crucial topic in the energy sector. This research aims to explore clean and efficient nuclear heat supply technical pathways, give full play to China's advantage in the high proportion of large-capacity pressurized water reactor (PWR) nuclear power units, and provide support for energy structure optimization and sustainable development.
Method Drawing on domestic and international experience in nuclear heat supply of PWR nuclear power units, specialized systems were constructed to meet the demands of space heating and industrial steam supply. The system composition and key technologies were analyzed and summarized. Combined with the practices of the two demonstration projects, "Nuanhe-1" and "Heqi-1", their technical characteristics and application effects were comprehensively analyzed.
Result Practices of the "Nuanhe-1" and "Heqi-1" demonstration projects show that nuclear heating technology can greatly improve the comprehensive energy utilization efficiency of nuclear power plants for space heating and industrial steam supply. It significantly reduces pollutant emissions and heat supply costs, and brings considerable economic, environmental and social benefits. The results fully verify the feasibility and reliability of this technology in engineering applications.
Conclusion The nuclear heat supply technology based on large-capacity PWR nuclear power units is an effective solution for the clean transition of traditional heat supply. Its feasibility and reliability have been verified by engineering practices. This technology provides replicable and promotable experience for China to optimize energy structure and advance the achievement of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" goals by deploying such units, and is of great significance for sustainable development.
