Release Date: 2024-03-06 Visited:

In recent years, with continuous breakthroughs in controlled nuclear fusion experiments and ongoing developments in hardware technologies, such as high-temperature superconductors, companies and investments globally dedicated to exploring the commercialization of controlled nuclear fusion have been emerging. The realization of commercially viable controlled nuclear fusion for power generation is becoming increasingly achievable. However, numerous scientific, engineering, and technological challenges persist in achieving controlled nuclear fusion processes and converting them into usable forms of energy. These challenges include plasma instability, thermodynamic and kinetic issues, energy balance problems, material constraints, magnetic and inertial confinement methods, and more.

Advanced nuclear power generation technology has always been a crucial section of "Southern Energy Construction." We have previously published several special issues on nuclear power generation technology and controlled nuclear fusion power engineering technology. Against this backdrop, the academic journal "Southern Energy Construction" collaborates with the "Nuclear Science and Techniques " EI journal "Nuclear Techniques" to plan a special issue on "Controlled Nuclear Fusion Engineering Technology". This special issue has enlisted Associate Professor Wang Zhibin from the Sino-French Institute of Nuclear Engineering and Technology of the Sun Yat-sen University and Researcher Xu Min from the Southwestern Institute of Physics as contributing editors. It also includes experts such as Associate Researcher Wang Huihui from the Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Associate Researcher Zhang Zhonglin from Harbin Institute of Technology, Associate Researcher Jiang Min and Assistant Researcher Gong Shaobo from the Southwestern Institute of Physics as guest editors. The special issue is scheduled for publication in May 2024, aiming to actively explore the trial verification and results transformation of "industry, academia, research, and application" in the academic and engineering fields, promoting the scientific dissemination and academic exchange of nuclear fusion technology.

All submissions to this special issue will strictly adhere to international conventions and undergo a peer-review process. Submissions in either Chinese or English are accepted, and outstanding English submissions will be recommended to the SCI journal "Nuclear Science and Techniques," while excellent Chinese submissions will be recommended to the EI journal "Nuclear Techniques " and the Scopus journal "Southern Energy Construction". The final inclusion and publication of manuscripts will be jointly determined by the contributing editors of the Controlled Nuclear Fusion Special Issue, the editorial offices of "Nuclear Techniques," and "Southern Energy Construction". All papers will be formally submitted for inclusion in international databases such as SCI, EI, Scopus, DOAJ, etc. Importantly, "Southern Energy Construction" does not charge any page fees, and generous contribution fees are offered.

Author remuneration: We sincerely welcome you and your team to contribute papers or recommend excellent submissions for our special issue. Articles published in our journal are exempt from review and page fees, and we offer substantial author remuneration (special expert remuneration: 1000~2000 yuan, Paper funded by provincial or ministerial-level grants: 1000 yuan, regular paper remuneration: 300~500 yuan).
