Special Issue of ''Offshore Wind Power Engineering Technology'' to be Published in Jul. 2023

As for China, the "14th Five-year Plan" is of great importance to carry out large-scale development, realize smart O&M and reduce the cost to a reasonable level for offshore wind power projects. During this period, China's offshore wind power industry will experience rapid development with increasing market demands as drivers. Technicians for offshore wind power projects in China have been exploring the offshore WTG solutions in shallow and deep waters to grapple with the effects of typhoons and adapt to the unique geological and hydrological conditions of China, and have accumulated experiences in surveying, design, construction, and O&M for offshore wind farms. They will make joint efforts to innovate and boost the high-efficiency development of offshore wind power projects for China. It is urgently needed to summarize and popularize the technical engineering experiences in the construction of offshore wind farms.

To this end, we will widely gather rich experiences in the construction of offshore wind power projects and plan to edit the Special Issue or Special Column of "Offshore Wind Power Engineering Technology" in 2023, with Shi Wei, a researcher at Dalian University of Technology, and Le Conghuan, an associate researcher at Tianjin University as our co-editors-in-chief. The special issue, focused on offshore wind power engineering technology, is planned to be launched in July, aiming at promoting scientific communication and academic exchanges in the field of electric power and energy. It will provide a unique opportunity to showcase extensive research conducted on this topic in China.


Introduction to the contributing co-editors-in-chief of the Special Issue of "Offshore Wind Power Technology" of Southern Energy Construction:

Shi Wei, male, is a distinguished researcher and doctoral supervisor under the Xinghai 1000 Youth Talents Plan of Dalian University of Technology. He has been selected as one of the first tip-top young talents under the "Xingliao Talents Program" of Liaoning Province, a talent under the "Xinghai 1000 Youth Talents Plan" of Dalian University of Technology, an "urgently-needed professional in key industries of Dalian", and an outstanding young scientific and technological talent of China Renewable Energy Society. He is mainly engaged in the research of multi-field coupling mechanism and security technology of offshore wind turbines. He has organized more than 10 projects, including general projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, projects supported by the Youth Fund, sub-projects of the National Key R&D Program, and projects supported by the Liaoning Natural Science Foundation. He has published 32 SCI papers (including 25 papers published in the capacity of first author/corresponding author) and 40 EI papers; 17 Chinese invention patents, 8 American patents and 2 software copyrights have been licensed. Besides, he has won 6 science and technology awards such as the first prize of Marine Engineering Science and Technology Award. He currently serves as the Associate Editor-in-Chief of the SCI journal Frontiers in Energy Research, Editorial Board Member of Journal of Modern Green Energy, Guest Editor of the SCI journal JMSE (JCR Q1), etc.

Le Conghuan, female, is an associate researcher and master advisor at the School of Civil Engineering, Tianjin University. She is mainly engaged in the design and R&D of offshore wind power support structures, offshore construction work, and others. She has led seven projects, including the general project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, project supported by the Youth Fund, the sub-project of the National Youth Fund, the sub-project of the National Innovative Working Methods, and project supported by Tianjin Natural Science Foundation; participated in more than 10 projects such as the one under the State High-Tech Development Plan (863 Program), project supported by International S&T Cooperation, National Ocean Demonstration Project, and projects under the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Tianjin Natural Science Foundation of China; published more than 60 SCI/EI papers; obtained more than 20 licensed invention patents; and won one second-class prize of provincial and ministerial awards. She serves as a Guest Editor of Frontiers in Energy Research, a SCI Journal.

2 When submitting the contribution, select "Special Topic Contribution" in the Contribution Type, select "Offshore Wind Power Technology Special Issue", and click the "Submit" button after completing all steps. An email will be sent to your email address to inform you of if your contribution is submitted. All contributions will be subject to peer review in strict accordance with international conventions and the journal's review process. The final contribution to be published will be decided by the Editorial Board based on peer review results. The approved papers will be first published on the China National Knowledge Network (CNKI), and then submitted to Scopus, DOAJ, and other important international databases for inclusion after official publication.
